ABOUT IAN McKENZIE
Ian is a veteran Bluesman with experience of live performances across four decades. He was a regular at the Troubadour Club in London during the 1960s working with Long John Baldry, Martin Carthy and others. During the 1970s he was founder and organiser of the Exmouth Live Music Club and undertook performances at blues venues in Exeter including the University of Exeter Students Union. In the 1980s Ian was resident at the Staines Folk club in southwest London (near Heathrow) and performed gigs at Folk and Blues Festivals in the UK.

Ian is a longtime fan of Big Bill Broonzy and Blind Blake and plays many of their pieces. He is an accomplished Dobro player and plays a mixture of Delta, Texas, and Carolina Blues and ragtime. Ian also composes and plays his own music.

Ian is now back on the live music circuit following a period working in the USA where he performed at the Delta Blues Museum in Clarksdale, Mississippi, Fort Worth and Dallas,Texas, and at venues in Virginia. Recent gigs have included Blues Cruises from the Docks at Exmouth; Local Blues/Music Festivals and opening (support) for musicians visiting the south west of England
